Paranoia | Short Film

This was a group project assigned for my Introduction To Media Production Course, a film titled Paranoia in which I acted in and produced. The task was to create a short narrative film, with the topic of your choice, showcasing the skills we learned in the course. The process of producing this film involved drafting and writing out our script as well as shots, renting out equipment and spaces for the filming, and putting all of our footage together in post-production editing. The process took over a month and required rigorous work, commitment, and attention to detail. We faced challenges in filming due to weather, cancellations, and schedule conflicts. In the end, the experience was rewarding, as it showcased our skills and talents and became something we were proud of.

Nope Movie Analysis Final Paper

This was a final project for my Introduction to Film course. The assignment asked me to analyze a technical film element in a movie. In this paper, I examined how Jordan Peele’s Nope uses diegetic sound. I focus on how these sounds, especially those tied to the mysterious presence of "Jean Jacket", shape the audience’s emotions and expectations and guide the narrative. By breaking down key scenes, I demonstrate how sound functions not just as ambiance but as a powerful narrative tool. This paper took over a month to write and required over eight rewatches of the film in its entirety. I ended up being incredibly satisfied and proud of my work, because I was passionate about the film, and was able to showcase that interest in my writing through my attention to detail, and in-depth analysis.

Wisconsin Design Team Documentary

This is a documentary I made for my Introduction to Media Production Course. The assignment was to create a documentary on a topic of your choice. In the documentary, I examine the unique culture and development of Wisconsin Design Team, a small, locally owned business that has seen rapid growth since its establishment. The film highlights the supportive environment, professional opportunities, and close-knit community that distinguish small businesses through an interview with an employee who brings years of experience from retail corporations. Using the technical and narrative skills I learned in class, I directed, wrote, cast, and edited the documentary to make this story come to life.
